Announcing Internet Hall of Achievement

The Internet Hall of Achievement would like to announce its arrival to the internet at http://www.ihachieve.org . . . where its mission is to honor individuals, groups, and organizations for significant contributions to the internet!

David Bancroft, founder and owner of the Internet Hall of Achievement explains,

"I have been involved in efforts to bettering the internet by striving for excellence with my site, Award Sites!, since 1997 . . . which has been primarily focused on improving all aspects associated with site design through the rating of web award programs.

Well, a few months ago . . . the idea for the Internet Hall of Achievement started to formulate after a discussion with another dedicated individual about the possibility of Award Sites! (www.awardsites.com) recognizing individuals for their noble efforts involved with the internet.

And along with the input of another associate, it was determined that the only way it could be done right was to develop it separate of Award Sites!. . . as a .org with its primary focus for now to recognize significant contributions to the internet. The selection process is by a committee of knowledgeable individuals from several countries with nominations open to Internet Hall of Achievement's visitors.

In fact, three pioneers of the Internet, Paul Baran, Tim Berners-Lee, and Vinton Cerf, are the first ones honored by the Internet Hall of Achievement.

There are also more plans for the Internet Hall of Achievement including it becoming a 501c nonprofit organization with the goal to provide scholarships to talented / gifted students throughout the world who need financial assistance to continue with their internet education . . . Award Sites! would be part of the nonprofit approach, as well.

Moreover, the Internet Hall of Achievement appears to be the first active site of its kind, which is somewhat surprising when you think about the internet's global impact.
